Day 13 Garmony to Tobermory to Mendelssohn......what?

A short ferry ride to the Isle of Mull.  Almost as famous as the Isle of Skye.  We continue with great views and small villages.  Tobermory was a great seaside town, very photogenic.

Here is where we found out about the "Mendelssohn on Mull Festival".  A 6 day yearly music festival for up and coming UK string musicians.   We discovered a concert at a community center about 20 minutes away and raced over to enjoy the music.  Oh my, The Artistic Director for the series , Levon Chilingirian, and the cello mentor played with either two or three 'young professionals' for an incredible two hours of Wolf, Dvorak and Schubert.

Depending on the selection, either a quartet or quintet sounded like a full orchestra.  A small venue, maybe 100 people.  We were about 25 feet from Chilingirian, amazing to watch him attack and caress his violin.  I have never seen someone of his talent that close before.  Their group ate at the same restaurant we did after the performance, I wanted to thank them and take their picture, but decided they deserved their privacy.

I, and no one took pictures during the performance.  This was during the applause afterword.

We discovered their are three types of roads on the islands. The two lane roads, but very few of them. The one lane roads with the fore mentioned 'passing places', where you or they pull over since it is a one lane road.  And the 'weak road', this is a one lane road, but without any 'passing places'.  They are really tough, and slow.

A Highland Cattle-cow.  I call them Hobbit cows.

One more sheep shot
